Typically lasting three to four days, these events blend music, culture and outdoor adventure, featuring celebrated Greek performers alongside a range of nature-based experiences. This summer, four standout festivals await in Boeotia, Phthiotis, Kozani, and Zagori.

Vovousa Festival

In the heart of the Pindus mountains – on the banks of the Aoos River, near the protected Valia Kalda forest – the tiny village of Vovousa (population: 35) comes alive each summer through its multidisciplinary cultural festival. Launched in 2014, the event was created to showcase the area’s natural beauty and support the local community.

When: July 19-August 9, 2025

Who: One of the richest and most diverse festivals in the country, its program includes workshops for all ages, hiking excursions, athletic tournaments, film screenings, and concerts.

Arvanitsa Forest Festival

Since 2012, this festival has taken place on a small plateau nestled among fir trees, an initiative of the Kyriaki Mountaineering Club to promote the area and its pristine landscapes.

Where: In the Arvanitsa area on Mount Helicon, 5 km from the village of Kyriaki in Boeotia, approximately 144 km from Athens (about a 2-hour drive)

When: July 11-13, 2025

Who: Giannis Haroulis, Ioulia Karapataki, Foivos Delivorias, Panos Mouzourakis, and Bloody Hawk are among this year’s headliners

Fiesta Voio

For the third year running, the Fiesta Voio festival – held on the banks of the Aliakmonas River – will blend live music with outdoor activities, under the auspices of the Municipality of Voio. Located near the villages of Mikrokastro and Siatista, it’s a perfect excuse to explore this lesser-known part of northern Greece.

Where: On the banks of the Aliakmonas River, 33 km from Kozani, 151 km from Thessaloniki, and 430 km from Athens

When: July 10-13, 2025

Who: A mix of musical styles, with names like Eleonora Zouganeli, Melina Aslanidou, Bloody Hawk, Dani Gambino, and Eurovision stars Marina Satti and Klavdia

Tickets: €17 per day; €40 early bird and €50 general admission for all four days

Elateia Music Festival

The idea for the festival originated 12 years ago with the Youth Association of Elateia and has since evolved into a vibrant annual event, held just outside the village in the lush setting of Alonaki–Platania. Since its inception, the association has led a variety of cultural and environmental initiatives, from heritage walks to volunteer actions.

Where: Alonaki-Platania, near Elateia in Phthiotis. The village of Tithorea lies just 10 km away. Elateia is 167 km from Athens and 344 km from Thessaloniki.

When: July 31-August 3, 2025

Who: This year’s lineup includes Marina Satti, Spyros Grammenos, Socrates Malamas, and Miltos Paschalidis, among others.

Tickets: €17 per day, €55 for the full four-day pass
