Attica Group plans 700-million-euro investments by the end of the decade

The Attica group plans to invest 700 million euros in the further development of its fleet by the end of the decade, focusing on high-speed ferries.

The country’s largest coastal shipping group, which is also the largest employer of Greek seafarers worldwide, with approximately 2,500 Greeks permanently on board ships, has a total investment program of 1.2 billion dollars.

After the first agreement last year concerning ro-pax ships that will operate in the Adriatic, the coastal shipping group is now turning its attention to the Aegean.

After all, this was the main reason why it sold its stake in Morocco. It chose to invest in Greece, although it did not stop examining investment opportunities abroad, mainly in Europe.

Its plans include strengthening the fleet of high-speed ferries, with priority for the Argosaronic Gulf, with two or three “Aero” type ships, while there are also plans for the construction of two high-speed ferries, with a large capacity for transporting vehicles.

As company executives pointed out, one of the needs of the passenger public is to arrive quickly, enjoying high-quality services, at their destination.

The group announced the addition of two high-speed ferries to three new connections to and from the Cyclades.

With regard to investments in new high-speed ferries, the company expects to further clarify the landscape regarding new green fuels.
