Electricity bills: Drop in green tariffs

1 month ago 6

Energy supplies announced the ‘green’ tariffs for March confirming market estimates for further de-escalation of energy costs in the retail sector.

The prices start from 8 cents per KWh and reach 11.5 cents per KWh. The above prices remind of pre-energy crisis levels, with market officials underlining that the trend will continue, at least for the following months. In the summer, demand will increase and this is expected to affect both wholesale and retail prices.

It should be noted that the majority of consumers, around 70%, continue in a green tariff category, which forces companies to be constantly vigilant for competition.

ELIN announced the lowest green tariff, at 8 cents per kWh in March from 11.7 cents a month ago, followed by Elpedison at 9.9 cents per kWh for the first 100 kilowatt hours and 10.7 cents for the remaining consumption.

IRON’s green tariff stood at 10.3 cents per kWh and Volton’s at 10.3 cents per kWh.

Zenith follows with 10.467 minutes per kWh. Protergia’s special tariff saw a big “plunge” of 23%, with the price being 10.776 cents per kWh. PPC is next at 10.8 cents/kilowatt hour for consumption up to 500 kilowatt hours.

For consumption over 500 kilowatt hours the price is 11.9 cents per kWh. NRG’s green tariff for March will be priced at 11.5 cents per kWh and Volterra’s price at 11.5 cents.
